Research Impact At Schulich – 2025 In Review
As 2026 begins, it’s time for us to look back on another successful year of research at the Schulich School of Business.
So what did we do in 2025? Well, a lot! Some highlights:
Our faculty’s dynamic research continues to be published widely in leading journals and is advancing knowledge in fields ranging from climate finance to consumer behaviour and from AI to equity in organizations. This year alone, our faculty published 81 journal articles (including several FT50 articles), 5 books, contributed to creating 7 book chapters, were consulted as subject material experts in the media dozens of times, and were granted 19 awards/honours.

Grant Packard (Program Director, Master of Marketing Program & Associate Professor of Marketing) was identified by the American Marketing Association (AMA) as one of the world’s most productive marketing scholars, by number of articles published in premier academic journals. Professor Packard was ranked #36 on the list of “Top 50 Most Productive Marketing Scholars in Top Tier Journals”. These include several journals included in the Financial Times’ list of “Top 50 Journals” used in research rankings, such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, and Marketing Science. |

Canadian Academic Accounting Association – Amin Mawani
|
Amin Mawani, Professor of Taxation at Schulich, and his co-author, Alan Macnaughton of the University of Waterloo, were honoured with the inaugural Thomas Schneider Community Impact Research Award for 2025 by the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA). The Schneider Award, named in memory of Professor Thomas Schneider, celebrates academic research that has demonstrable and long-term impact on professional practice or public policy. The inaugural winning study was selected from among all Canadian accounting research published during the past 25 years, and was awarded for the paper entitled: “Contributions of Employee Stock Options to Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs) and TFSAs: Valuation Issues and Policy Anomalies” by Alan Macnaughton (University of Waterloo) and Amin Mawani (Schulich at York) |
