The Dean’s Society: Schulich’s Premier Leadership Giving Association
Named after Schulich’s Deans – past and present – the Dean’s Society aims to build a strong community of alumni leaders and philanthropists who share the same passion of giving back to their alma mater and to current and future Schulich students. The Society recognizes leadership-level donors to the Schulich Annual Fund who give between $1,000 and $24,999.99 to each Annual Fund campaign.
Why Become a Member?
Members in the Dean’s Society are recognized on the Schulich Alumni Donors Wall, as well as in other ways that are exclusive to the Dean’s Society (such as invitations to special events/lectures and acknowledgement in various publications).
Who Can Become a Member?
Membership in the Dean’s Society is based on contributions made during the Schulich Annual Fund campaign period (May to April). Alumni who contribute $1,000 or more during the campaign become members of this proud group of leadership supporters for one year.
All gifts that alumni make to the Schulich Annual Fund during the campaign period determine membership status in the Dean’s Society. For example, if you make a gift of $500 in Dec 2023 and another gift of $650 in March 2024, you would qualify for the Dean’s Society.
Each year, donors are invited to renew their gifts to the Schulich Annual Fund during the following campaign to maintain their Dean’s Society membership status.
How Do I Contribute?
Dean’s Society members can make donations in the form of cash, stocks and securities. At any time, you can let us know your preferred method of communication (mail, email or phone) and the time of year you prefer to be contacted for your renewal.
What are the Leadership Levels?
The Dean’s Society has three leadership giving levels. Members are recognized on the Schulich Alumni Donors Wall with a distinguished Schulich leaf beside their names in colours according to their level of leadership giving:
WHITE LEAF
$10,000 – $24,999.99
GREY LEAF
$2,500 – $9,999.99
BLACK LEAF
$1,000 – $2,499.99
What are the benefits?
Membership benefits for Dean’s Society donors include:
- An invitation to a special annual donor reception with the Dean
- Invitations to special alumni and School events throughout the year
- Prominent recognition in various donor recognition publications published by the School
Special membership benefits for White Leaf donors (in addition to the above):
- An invitation to the School’s VIP box at the Rogers Cup Tennis Tournament
- An autographed book written by a Schulich faculty member in honour of your first gift of $10,000 to $25,000
