    The Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (COERB) at the Schulich School of Business is a global leader in creating and disseminating new knowledge about the social, ethical, environmental and political responsibilities of business. It is one of the reasons why Schulich is ranked number two in the world in teaching responsible business by such publications as Corporate Knights. Drawing on over 40 faculty experts from across the school, COERB is one of the world’s largest and most influential academic centres dedicated to triple bottom line thinking.

Faculty

At the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (COERB) we can call on more than 40 faculty experts, conducting research in Responsible Business and a dedicated administrative team. Included amongst this group are the members of the Sustainability Area.

Advisory Council

COERB’s Advisory Council is comprised of senior leaders with high level experience and knowledge of responsible business and with a commitment to enhancing responsible business practice through education and research. Its function is to:

  • Provide high level strategic advice and guidance on the direction and activities of the Centre in line with its core mission and values;
  • Contribute specific expertise on key issues, sectors, and knowledge areas within the remit of the Centre;
  • Serve as a bridge for developing knowledge transfer between the Centre and its key constituencies in business, government, civil society, and academia; and
  • Act as a catalyst for developing new research projects, teaching programs, and sources of funding to maximize the relevance, sustainability and impact of the Centre.

Research

From investigations of competitive social strategies, to sustainable supply chain management, responsible consumption, and auditor ethics, Schulich research on responsible business is research that makes a difference – through its impacts on academia, on practice, and on society.
