From Vision to Reality: Schulich Black Students Association’s Afropolitan Case Competition & Conference Made History
This past week, Schulich Black Students Association (SBSA)’s Afropolitan Case Competition & Conference was held in-person for the first time at the KPMG offices in Toronto, with the theme “Transcend”. The event was organized under the leadership of BBA candidates and Co-Presidents, Ramla Elmi and Yousif Arbab, and the executive team, consisting of Schulich students Iman Nassir, Bridget Moka, Kenna Agbakwa, Ornella Banza, Anisa Ulusow, Ilhaan Jama, Eniola Adepoju, Naomi Nigusie, Esther Kimpiatu, Emmanuel Kalemba, Adna Osman, Samar Busuri, and Joel Offeh.
Afropolitan featured insightful workshops, panels, a powerhouse keynote from Nigela Purboo, co-founder of Onyx Initiative, and a case competition with prizes totalling $2,000. Other participating organizations included CPA Ontario, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Mackenzie Investments, MNP, and RSM.
Attendees also had the opportunity to tour the KPMG office, receive complimentary professional headshots, and network with speakers, recruiters, and professionals from a range of industries.
