Schulich students win inaugural Sustainable Supply Chain Case Challenge
Ansh Dhawan (MF Candidate ‘24), Gurraj Singh Kohli (MF Candidate ‘24), Shaili Makwana (MMKG Candidate ‘24) and Mia (Yutao) Zhu (MMKG Candidate ’24) are winners of the inaugural Sustainable Supply Chain Case Challenge.
The challenge offers graduate students from the Schulich School of Business, Rotman School of Management, Ivey Business School and the Smith School of Business the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to address a real-world case relevant to the future sustainability of supply chains. Teams of up to four students analyzed a real-world case problem while competing for top cash prizes. 4EverGreen Consultants was one of four teams that presented recommendations to a panel of industry judges at the in-person finals on February 15, 2024.
“As a Masters in Finance student, venturing into the complex world of sustainable supply chains was a leap outside my comfort zone,” said Dhawan. “I am especially grateful to my talented teammates whose dedication and expertise were crucial in navigating this challenge. Our collective efforts led to strategies that seamlessly integrate sustainability into supply chain practices, delivering value across the board. This journey of discovery and innovation was a challenging yet rewarding experience.”
A team from the Ivey School of Business (Western University), earned the place of 1st Runner Up. The team consisted of graduate students, Pranav Jain, Harrison Antecol, and Brihad Ralhan. Two additional teams from the Schulich School of Business finished in a tie for third place.
Judges for the Finals Round included Raman Boparai, Director, Financial Planning, Canadian National Railway (CN); Lillo Puma, Vice President, Transportation, Walmart Canada, and Jacqueline Zhu, Senior Manager, Financial Planning, Canadian National Railway (CN).
The competition is presented by the George Weston Ltd. Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains in collaboration with Schulich’s Supply Chain and Operations Management Club (SCOMC). The competition is made possible through the generous support of Lead Sponsor, CN, and Partner Sponsor, CITT.
