Top Graduate Instructors Honoured with 2023 Teaching Excellence Awards

The Schulich community recently celebrated the ten top-rated graduate instructors at the Graduate Business Council Gala through the Schulich Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA). The student-driven award is adjudicated according to Seymour Schulich’s vision for teaching excellence, which includes exceptional communication, knowledge, enthusiasm, and teaching innovation.
This year’s nominees taught courses in a diverse range of fields, including Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, Strategic Management, Marketing, and Sustainability.
“The instructors nominated for this year’s Teaching Excellence Awards were singled out by our students for their passion and dedication, as well as the way they inspired and motivated,” said Schulich Dean Detlev Zwick. “The Schulich community salutes the Top Ten instructors who were nominated and congratulates this year’s Winner and Runner-up.”

Professor Ashwin Joshi won first prize and Professor Supinder Babra placed second. They received $15,000 and $10,000 respectively. Recipients will also be celebrated during Spring Convocation and showcased in the Seymour Schulich Teaching Excellence Awards Hall of Fame in the Schulich building.
