Schulich Hosts 4th Annual Supply Chain Networking Event for Alumni and Industry
On October 25, 2025, the Schulich School of Business hosted its 4th annual Supply Chain Networking Event, bringing together a diverse group of alumni, faculty, and industry guests for a day of industry panels and candid discussions on the urgent challenges facing supply chain leaders.
A highlight of the event was the closing keynote panel, “Leadership Lessons: Finding Opportunity in Disruption,” featuring speakers Mark Bednis (Vice President, Supply Chain Analytics, Loblaw Companies Limited), Sarah Nisker (Vice President, Supply Chain Planning & Initiatives, Loblaw Companies Limited), and Ted Salter (Executive Director, Supply Chain Consulting, KPMG). Moderated by David Johnston, the panel explored how leading organizations are navigating volatility, accelerating decision making, and treating disruption as a catalyst for innovation and competitive advantage.
This year’s event also marked five years of the George Weston Ltd. Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains, Schulich’s hub for supply chain education, research, and industry partnership. During the event, Schulich announced the expansion of its partnership with George Weston Limited through 2030. The renewed commitment will strengthen Schulich’s efforts to advance leadership development, experiential education, and real-world learning in supply chain management.
Additional speakers from the event included alumni in leadership roles in supply chain, including James Demir (Supply Chain Lead – Canada, SodaStream, MSCM ‘24), Priyanka Ghosh (Sustainability Manager, Azelis, MSCM ‘25), Benaisha Major (Manager, Supply Planning, Restaurant Brands International, BBA ’21, MSCM ‘24), Dominique Mutakwa (Logistics Specialist, Sleep Country Canada, MSCM ‘27), and Greg Snider (Senior Vice President, Strategic Partners, Arrive Logistics, MBA ’13).
“We’re seeing our alumni step into critical roles across the supply chain and deliver results in an increasingly complex environment. The George Weston Ltd. Centre is proud to support their continued growth and to help advance the national conversation on building Canada’s supply chain capabilities.” – David Johnston, Director, George Weston Ltd. Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains.
The event was presented by the George Weston Ltd. Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains in collaboration with Schulich’s Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement, and the Schulich Supply Chain Alumni Association (SSCAA).
