Kellogg-Schulich Alumni Announce Diversity and Inclusion Award at Annual Gala Event

The Kellogg-Schulich Alumni Association (KSAA) hosted its 8th Annual Alumni Gala on October 20th in The HIVE Virtual Event Hall, delivering an evening of purpose and promise to the Kellogg global network of EMBA alumni.
The event was chaired by KSAA President, Zara Lam (EMBA ’13), who presided over the evening alongside Kadie Ward (EMBA ’20). Dean Detlev Zwick delivered remarks fresh off his appointment as the eighth Dean of Schulich, providing updates on the School’s last year and insights into the future.
The evening welcomed business leader David Thom, President of IBI Group, who shared his outlook on the Evolution of City Planning Post-Pandemic. Keynote speaker Sergio Rebelo, Tokai Bank Distinguished Professor of International Finance, and Chair, Finance Department at the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University, USA), delivered a talk on Leading at a Time of Radical Change. Professor Rebelo shared how globalization 2.0, digitization, AI and climate change will increasingly challenge the world and how leaders can act.
The gala also marked the launch of the Kellogg-Schulich Alumni Association Diversity and Inclusion Award, which has been established to advance opportunities for individuals from underrepresented groups to succeed in the EMBA program.
Capping off the evening was a lively virtual auction to raise funds for the new KSAA Award hosted by Matthias Kipping, Academic Director, Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA, Professor of Policy, and Richard E. Waugh Chair in Business History.
The event was made possible thanks to the dedication of the wonderful alumni and speakers in attendance, and our generous sponsors: Presenting Sponsor IBI Group; Executive Sponsor TD Insurance; and Premier Sponsor Middlefield Group.
