This past week, the Schulich School of Business welcomed experts from CI Financial and Google for a collaborative panel discussion titled “From Pixels to Profits – A Deep Dive into Generative AI Technology”. The panel is part of an ongoing partnership with CI Financial which provides experiential education and mentorship for Schulich students. More than 200 attendees gathered to discuss the transformative role of Generative AI in business.
“The collaboration between Schulich and CI Financial is a great example of how we’re creating strategic partnerships with industry-leading companies,” said Schulich Dean Detlev Zwick. “These partnerships provide Schulich students with experiential learning through real-world consulting projects and internships, as well as valuable networking opportunities.”
The panel discussion, moderated by Professor Pauline Shum Nolan, featured the following industry thought leaders:
- Kambiz Vatan-Abadi, Chief Innovation Officer at CI Financial
- Martin J. Cheung, Vice President of Digital Transformation & Automation at CI Global Asset Management
- Meg Jansen, Technology Sales Leader at Google
Vatan-Abadi explained the inner workings of Generative AI using calculus and neurobiology. Jansen led a discussion about the future of work, based on forecasts and case studies from Google Cloud’s Vertex AI partnerships.
