Celebrating a 20 Year-Partnership with the Krembil Foundation
Schulich recently celebrated its 20 year-partnership with the Krembil Foundation. The event was attended by leaders, members, and friends of the Schulich and York communities that included Dean Detlev Zwick, Paul Tsaparis, Chair of York University’s Board of Governors, Joe Mapa, Krembil Chair and Centre Director, Alok Kanti, President and CEO of Bayer Inc., Nitin Jain, President and CEO of Sienna Senior Living, and Krembil Scholars and Interns from various graduation years.
Highlights from the event included the official unveiling of the Krembil Centre for Health Management and Leadership – a leading hub for education, student advancement, industry outreach, and research – and a special luncheon reuniting current and past Krembil Scholars and Interns with members of the Krembil Foundation.
The hallmark of the Krembil-Schulich School of Business Partnership centres on the championing of next generation business leaders. In his remarks, Robert Krembil, C.M. (MBA ’71, Hon. LLD ’00), Founder of the Krembil Foundation, emphasized the importance of people. “Bricks and mortars help, but we like to focus on people. That’s why we got into scholarships – it’s the competition to attract the best and the brightest.” Over the last 20 years, the Krembil Foundation has empowered 56 scholars and interns.
An invaluable benefactor and pioneering partner of the Schulich School of Business, the Krembil Foundation continues to support initiatives that changes students’ lives, empower world-class researchers, and affect policy debates. In Dean Zwick’s words: “The Krembil Foundation’s bold investment in our students and School is a truly transformative gift. The impact of their unwavering support is invaluable, and we are grateful for their loyal partnership and support. Working together, we are capable of shaping the future of healthcare through innovation, thought leadership and the development of next-generation business leaders.”
