  • About Us

Schulich Real Assets (SRA) inspires and educates the next generation of industry leaders in real estate and infrastructure. Leaders who possess hard and soft skills, who are technologically strong, while attuned to the social and environmental imperatives that shape our world today.

SRA’s unparalleled network of industry leading partners is informing its research and curriculum, as well as mentoring its students and graduates – Schulich Real Assets offers an exceptional experiential learning experience.

Real estate and infrastructure are critically important building blocks in today’s global economy, with increasing recognition that successful and sustainable cities are the ecosystems for business formation, innovation, and economic growth. This dynamic coincides with the growing importance of “real assets” in both institutional and individual asset portfolios that are transforming real estate and infrastructure investment strategies and driving increased demand for highly qualified, creative professionals that understand both industries, as well as the connections between them.

    Real Assets at Schulich

Real Assets is an area of major focus and differentiation for the Schulich School, enabled and empowered by its many committed industry partners. It stands at the intersection of world class practitioners and teaching faculty – guided by meaningful and applied research, driven to create practical solutions with engaged industry partners. This focus seeks to identify, address, and help to resolve the foremost challenges and opportunities within the built environment encompassing where we live, work, shop, retire and address our recreational and health needs. We hope to excite, educate, and channel the talents of students passionate about the many ways in which real estate and infrastructure contribute to a better world.

Schulich has a long-standing tradition as a global leader in real property education. The Real Property area and MBA concentration were founded by Professor James McKellar in the early 1900s, with Andre Kuzmicki developing a focus on alumni engagement. The Schulich Real Property Alumni Association (SRPAA) fosters this engagement via the Perspectives Lecture, Developer’s Den case competition and most recently an annual golf tournament which raises funds for the SRPAA Leadership Award.
