I have three photos: 1) Rick with Wade; 2) Rick ready to destroy Beggars’ chicken and 3) Rick starting his post retirement journey as a chef. The first photo is of Rick with Wade, which is a nostalgic look at not only their great friendship and mutual admiration that extended more than 30 years, but a look at what this celebration of his retirement and contribution to Schulich should/would have been in more normal times. Having said that, I commend the OMIS area for once again rising to the occasion and having the best send off possible. The second photo commemorates his many years of contribution to the Indian MBA program. Here is ready to smash the specialty of the house, Beggars Chicken, at his hotel restaurant in India. The third photo shares some of his preparations for retirement as it is a photo taken during an Indian cooking class he took in Kolkata. He already is cooking up a storm, taking online drawing classes, getting involved in local and provincial politics as well as helping Alex and his family, including Rick’s two grandkids, move into their new home nearby. I think Rick is already enjoying his retirement. We thank Rick for his contribution to York, and we will miss him at Schulich, but wish him the very best in the next stage of his life journey.
