Dear Magda, How is SSB going to function without you? You have been the driving force behind translating the Dean’s ideas and strategy into action. You have always managed a difficult, very wide-ranging portfolio with calm and grace. For me personally, you were always my go-to person whenever I faced a challenge as IMBA director, CGE director, or just as a professor. You always had time for me and helped me navigate the arcane ways of York’s and Schulich’s budgeting and HR. But what I will always be most grateful for – you backed me up when I was trying to convince the dean to let me go on sabbatical, and most recently to retire! You and I are heading into the next chapter of our lives at the same time. I don’t think either of us expected to do so in the midst of a pandemic. I wish you and your husband all the best as you go forward. You greatly deserve the R&R you should be getting. I’m going to miss you, as will the entire school.
