It is hard to know how limit my remarks appropriately in paying tribute to Alan Middleton.

An outstanding teacher, a talented administrator, and a great colleague and friend, Alan excels at everything he does – and, most importantly, he is a mensch of the highest order.

I have had the privilege of working with Alan and seeing him in action on every front. In the classroom, he is the marketing guru – always tailoring his classes to the target audience. As an administrator, he is always willing to go the extra mile, building SEEC and its reputation both nationally and internationally, and as a colleague and friend, he always has a bit of praise – often followed by some very helpful advice.

I have seen Alan in action in formal and informal teaching environments – in large class formats, in smaller groups and working individually with students. In every case, he is an inspiring teacher who both engages and challenges his students. His deep knowledge of marketing theory and of contemporary international business practice is evident in his work. On 601s, he is amazing. I have loved working with him and always appreciated his insights and advice for students.

So Alan – CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU!!!!
