It has been a long and productive journey together, dating back to FES, the old building and the wood beaver, wherever it now resides. We moved on with Alan;s help with the opening of Nadal in 1995 and the ELC in January 2003. An interesting journey that reflects the many achievements of Schulich. Alan directly contributed to one of these achievement that is close to my hear and that is Art@Suite 500 that few in Schulich even know exists and to which Alan has contributed his time and support over these many years. This is but one small example of Alan's many contributions to the success of the Schulich School. I recall in designing the Nadal center I had to figure out where to locate Alan such that his booming voice would not interrupt everyone. This voice was part of his trademark.

Many good times have now past us by, but I am sure Alan looks forward to many more good time as I expect he will ramp up his global travel itinerary. It has been a real pleasure to share these many years with Alan and I am personally grateful for the many contributions he has made over the years to success we all benefited from and enjoyed.
