Former Devin Truax Memorial iBBA Scholarship recipient, Ika Janiszewski (iBBA ’19), made her first philanthropic contribution to Schulich’s inaugural Giving Day last fall – a virtual 24-hour campaign inviting the Schulich community from around the world to come together to support our students.

The Devin Truax Memorial iBBA Scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time fourth-year iBBA student who demonstrates academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to extracurricular volunteerism and community leadership.

Not only did the scholarship help make Ika’s student exchange more affordable, but it also motivated her to help support the next generation of undergraduate Schulich students.

“A community is strongest when all members contribute, however they can,” said Ika. “Being a student at Schulich meant being a part of a supportive and welcoming community, with academic challenges and endless opportunities.”

Ika cherished her experience in the classroom, student government, and social groups while a student in the iBBA program. As Vice President, Operations of Schulich Undergraduate Business Society, Ika planned both Orientation Week and the End-of-Year Formal.
