• Tech MBA Venture Studio

The Schulich Tech MBA “Venture Studio” features a strategic partnership between Schulich and OneEleven (one of Canada’s most prominent tech accelerators, located in downtown Toronto).

The Venture Studio offers a unique collaborative environment where our next generation of business leaders work alongside a hand-picked group of high-potential startup/scaleup leaders as they prepare for their next fundraising mission.

Students will experience guest lectures from accomplished founders and venture capitalists, project mentorship by prominent innovators and participate in joint events with the OneEleven community (and additional networking opportunities).

Students will have the opportunity to engage with real-world business challenges, gain unparalleled industry insights, and forge relationships that will transform their career trajectory. The Venture Studio is perfectly placed in the third term (summer), leveraging the foundational knowledge students aquire in their first two terms and preparing them well for their work placement in the fourth and final term.

The Venture Studio will be co-led by Chris Carder (Executive Director of the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Schulich School of Business), Jack Fraser (Partner at BDC Capital’s Growth Venture Capital Fund), Matthew Lombardi (Director of Platform Services at TELUS’ Pollinator Fund), and Vincent Liu (Lead Product Manager at Square). More team announcements to follow!

At OneEleven, a community thriving with tech startups which have raised more than $800 Million in follow-on funding over the past 24 months, students will participate in classes, project meetings, and network with a world class group of tech leaders. This experience is designed to provide an immersive, real-world learning experience that goes beyond traditional classroom walls.

Chris Carder

“You'll be physically present in the accelerator, collaborating with actual companies in the program, all aiming to secure their next million dollars of funding. This partnership unlocks a network, a community of alumni, and valuable connections that have the potential to transform your life.”
