Schulich School of Business Offers New Course Focused on Leadership Lessons from the Pandemic
TORONTO – Thursday, September 3, 2020 – When students head back to class next week at York University’s Schulich School of Business, they will have the option of taking a first-of-its-kind, inter-disciplinary online course on leadership lessons from the pandemic.
Titled “Leading Through the Pandemic: Insights from Individuals, Organizations, Governments and Societies”, the course will bring together the expertise of 11 Schulich faculty members from a wide range of disciplines – everything from strategy and marketing to real estate and sustainability – to provide students with important business insights about the COVID-19 pandemic. Led by Ashwin Joshi, Associate Professor of Marketing and Director of Schulich’s MBA Program, the new Open Online Course will explore some of the most effective ways that individuals and organizations have adapted to the challenges brought about by the pandemic. “Students taking this course will have the opportunity to learn important personal, organizational, and societal leadership lessons,” says Professor Joshi.
Current students in all of the School’s degree programs as well as Schulich alumni – more than 32,000 around the world – will be able to enrol in the new course. Also, for the first time ever, Schulich will make the course available to members of the general public. Course lectures will be posted on YouTube.
