Schulich Participates in Semi-Finals at John Molson Integrated Case Competition (JMICC)
Schulich MBA/JD candidates Ian Chang, Disha Mittal, Abilash Sathyakumar and Shelley Zhang participated in John Molson Integrated Case Competition (JMICC) earlier this month in Montreal and made it all the way to the semi-finals.
The competition included 30 teams from 12 countries, competing in five divisions. The competition started with a round robin in each division with Team Schulich competing 1:1 with each of the other five teams in their division. They completed 5 cases in four days – three 3-hour cases, one 90-minute case, and one live case. After four rounds they ended up tied in their division with Asper School of Business. They beat Asper in Round 5 advancing to the semi-finals.
“Competing at the John Molson International MBA Case Competition was a fantastic learning experience,” said Chang (JD/MBA ’24). “The competition challenged and honed not only our strategic acumen but also the strength of our teamwork. Winning our division and reaching the semi-finals was a testament to the camaraderie and analytical skills of our team, as well as the exceptional mentorship of our coach, Joe Fayt.”
The JMICC competition has been running for 42 years. This is the first time a team from Schulich has participated.
