Schulich Business Excellence Academy Graduates Receive Certificate
The Schulich Business Excellence Academy (SBEA) concluded its second annual program this week with an in-person closing ceremony dinner at the Schulich campus where student participants received their Certificates of Completion.
The event was attended by over 50 SBEA participants, guest speakers, and partners from our main sponsor, Scotiabank. Schulich Dean Detlev Zwick and Schulich staff and students also attended the event.
One of the main purposes of the Academy, a student-led initiative, is to introduce high school students from underrepresented communities to the world of business and the many opportunities that exist within that world. SBEA participants were excited to attend in-person and bond with their peers following three intense weeks of online modules. Students also participated in a case competition and the winners were awarded prizes at the event.
“The networks and personal connections formed over the duration of the SBEA was very evident in the room and it was great to see the general sense of eagerness that prevailed among SBEA participants,” said Michelle Machado, Director of Strategic Policy & Planning at Schulich.
Schulich student Krystal Louisy and Schulich alumna Harshneet Bhatia (MF ’22) played a significant role in creating, planning and implementing the program. A large number of Schulich students also contributed to the month-long Program, including Anjali Rattan, Sharmika Piratheepan, Kajana Mahendran, Dwayne Adamah, Divya Jain, Ishita Mittal, Shawnzay Bhatti, Vrinda Bansal, Megan Quach, Celine Vo, Michelle Jodhan and Mariem Kakal. Program delivery was supported by guest speakers from the community along with Schulich faculty Alex Fisher, Schulich alumni Lyndsay Brisard, Abdel Ali and Vito Giovannetti, and Schulich staff Michelle Hughes and Katherine Elliot.
Congratulations to the Graduates of the 2022 Schulich Business Excellence Academy!
