Pycap Partnership Offers Support to Small Businesses and Internships to Students
The Schulich School of Business will be partnering with Pycap Venture Partners to launch the COVID-19 Business Support Centre to help small Canadian businesses and entrepreneurs navigate the growing list of government and private sector business support programs.
In addition, the partnership plans to offer summer employment to at least 15 Schulich students. Students will gain hands-on experience and learn about venture capital and corporate finance, while working closely with Stuart Browne (MBA ’09), CEO of Pycap Venture Partners, and the Pycap management team to launch the new initiative.
“Many business owners and entrepreneurs are overwhelmed right now with the process of assessing the increasing number of programs available to them,” said Browne. “Our goal is to help 3,000 small business owners and entrepreneurs in the next 90 days. Our partnership with Schulich is allowing us to scale our support services exponentially.”
“Schulich is proud to team up with Pycap Venture Partners to assist small business owners and entrepreneurs,” says Dezsö J. Horváth, Dean of the Schulich School of Business. “Our School has a long and successful track record of supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Canada. The Support Centre will provide critical assistance to help small businesses stay afloat during these unprecedented times.”
