We’re pleased to announce our Annual Kellogg-Schulich EMBA Gala has gone virtual this year.  Join us on Nov 19, 2020 from 5:30 pm -7:30 pm for two fireside chats and networking with fellow Kellogg-Schulich alumni, including the newly graduated class of 2020.  In recognition of these extra-ordinary times, this event will be complimentary and is brought to you by the Kellogg-Schulich Alumni Association. From networking to a live auction, we’ll have it all – but it might look a little different.  This will be a video enabled event, feel free to dress work-from-home casual or Black tie formal.

This year, participants will have the option of two fireside chats.

    FIRESIDE CHAT I

Jack Fraser (EMBA ’13) on creating Canadian Superstar businesses not just stars – international innovation trends and what challenges and opportunities exist for Canadian entrepreneurs as they build scalable businesses for the international market.

Jack is a serial growth venture operator and financier with more than 30 years of experience primarily in digital media and e-commerce. Since Dec 2019 Jack has been a Partner with BDC Capital’s Late Stage Growth Coinvest Fund.  Jack has worked in operations with several high-growth companies in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. He has been involved with market entry into various countries in Asia-Pacific (APAC), Europe and North America.  Jack’s responsibilities included online marketing, business intelligence, finance, accounting, tax structuring & compliance, corporate governance, and corporate development.

As a mentor to numerous entrepreneurs, Jack has supported the development of some of Canada’s most recognized digital retail brands. He has held COO, CFO and other executive positions throughout his career, most recently as the head of finance with SSENSE a Quebec-based global luxury fashion e-commerce retailer.

    FIRESIDE CHAT II

Paul S Hillier (EMBA ’19) discussing the Psychology of Risk – how consumers make decisions in erratic times.  Maintaining consumer confidence requires not only that our products and services be safe, but that they are SEEN to be safe.  Paul has managed campaigns defending some of the most controversial products of the past decade.

As consumers see risks in more and more products – from environmental damage to cyber threats to their own health and safety – how do we protect our products and businesses? Learn the lessons from products that have had to manage fears for years.

Paul is the practice lead at Tactix Risk Communications where he runs teams of data scientists to uncover risk perceptions. He previously served in the military’s Psychological Operations division doing counter-propaganda.

    LIVE AUCTION
Following the fireside chat, we will have our signature live auction hosted by Matthias Kipping, Professor of Policy; Richard E. Waugh Chair in Business History, Academic Director, Kellogg-Schulich EMBA Program, Schulich School of Business.

    NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY
And closing off the event, we will have networking opportunities to meet and reunite with fellow alumni.

We request participants to please enable their cameras for the duration of the Gala
