In Memory of Filomena Ticzon

The Schulich community has lost a dear friend and colleague. Filomena Ticzon, an Administrative Assistant in the Economics Area, passed away peacefully on April 12^th.

Filomena had been a loyal and dedicated employee at Schulich for close to 45 years. In addition to providing stellar administrative support for faculty and students, Filomena volunteered as the Social Director of the Faculty Staff Social Committee for nearly a decade and enjoyed bringing people together. With Filomena as Director, the Committee was responsible for organizing and hosted themed faculty and staff lunches, parties, bowling nights and BBQs.

Honouring Filomena’s Legacy

To pay tribute to Filomena, our Schulich family has established a memorial fund in her name to dedicate a special bench in the Founders Courtyard of the Schulich School of Business as an enduring tribute to Filomena. Donations exceeding the cost of the bench will be directed to the Schulich Student Support Fund.

A memorial service has been held at the School on May 10^th, 2022 where we celebrated Filomena’s life together with her family, friends and colleagues.

Sharing Your Condolences

During more than four decades at Schulich, Filomena touched the lives of many faculty, staff, students and alumni. She is remembered by all with great fondness and affection.
