Launch of the new Canada Impact+ Research Chairs and Canada Impact+ Emerging Leaders programs

As part of Canada’s ongoing commitment to research excellence, attracting global talent, and strengthening Canada’s research ecosystem, the three federal funding agencies, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), are launching two new measures that are part of the International Talent Attraction Strategy and Action plan announced in Budget 2025 – Canada Strong:

  1. Canada Impact+ Research Chairs program;
  2. Canada Impact+ Emerging Leaders program.

Both programs will be led by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS), housed at SSHRC.

TIPS will hold information sessions soon.
