I met Alan around 2006 when I began working at SEEC. We shared stories about the Nadal Centre opening in the mid-1990s and the great Bay Street position it provided for York and SEEC. I mentioned an MBA Economics professor, Dr. Zohar, who I admired in the 80s and Alan knew him well. That's when it became clear to me that I was in the right place, with a person who cared about the history, the people and the culture of the Business School and York. Alan helped all of us continue to build the reputation of the School and the University and to enjoy ourselves in the process (while doing so profitably). Alan always seemed to enjoy what he was doing at SEEC and clearly he did so successfully. I will always admire his good humour, his work ethic and his compassion for people. All of us SEEC-ers, and Schulich Alumni, will miss you Alan.
