Schulich’s recent graduate, Svetlana Mamaeva (BBA ’18) was crowned Miss Central Ontario last month, and will be competing for the title of Miss World Canada 2018 at the end of July.

“Being surrounded by successful and ambitious students throughout my undergrad pushed me to pursue my goals even outside of academics,” shared Mamaeva.

Mamaeva also became a national finalist at Top Model Search Canada, where she was selected by modelling agencies from Toronto, Montreal, Milan and New York.

In addition to beauty contests and modelling contracts, Svetlana specialized in finance during her undergraduate studies and landed a position as a Financial Analyst for PowerStream Energy Services, a community-owned energy company.

Mamaeva expressed that one of her goals is to return to Schulich to do her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the future.
