Bao Nguyen
Bao came to Schulich with almost three years of real estate experience that helped him develop strong technical skills and a deep understanding of real estate and investment fundamentals. He started his career as an Associate in the Financial Advisory practice with Deloitte Vietnam, where he worked on multiple assignments, including buy-side M&A, financial due diligence, and valuation advisory.
Bao moved into the real estate sector early on in his career by working as an Investment and Development Analyst for a local real estate firm in Vietnam. He later transitioned to work for CapitaLand, one of the largest real estate firms in Asia. During his time as an Investment and Asset Management Associate at CapitaLand Vietnam, Bao was responsible for asset management of four residential developments totalling 2,406 units and underwrote seven potential acquisition opportunities with a combined potential investment value of US $920 million. He was also in charge of managing financial models for a US$ 250 million opportunistic real estate private equity fund managed by CapitaLand that invested in greenfield residential developments in Vietnam’s gateway cities.
Bao has developed advanced financial modeling skills through his professional experience and formal training and is familiar with Argus Enterprise. He was part of the winning team at Schulich’s Developers’ Den Case International Competition held in March, and the recipient of the RioCan entrance scholarship.
Bao graduated with distinction from RMIT University in 2013 and has held both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations since 2017.
