To be eligible for the Study Tour, students must:

  • Be an MBA student
  • Successfully register for a space (please refer to: How to Register for the Study Tour).

Course Information

Course Credits:

  • The Study Tour course enrolment is for the Winter 2026 term
    Part-time students have the option to enrol the course in either the Winter 2026 or Summer 2026 term
  • Students have the option to register the course as a 1.5 or 3.0 credit course
    1.5 credits have fewer deliverables than the 3.0 credit course
  • Students are responsible for enrolling in the course once permission is granted from Student & Enrolment Services
    Standard add/drop deadlines and regulations apply

The Chile Columbia Study Tour 2026 dates are as follows:

  • Four to five asynchronous online modules
  • Mandatory synchronous pre-departure session in March
  • Program dates in Chile & Columbia: April 19 – 29, 2026*

* Students must attend the Pre-Departure session and the full program of activities abroad

How to Register

Step 1

  • Students will be notified in advance by email, as to when registration opens. A link to the registration site will be provided

Step 2

  • Students must reserve their space on the registration site, with a $500 deposit by credit card (final payment will be due at a later date). Refunds can only be provided if there is someone on the waitlist to take your spot
  • Once spaces fill, students can add their name to a waitlist

Step 3

You will be sent an email to enrol in the course through Passport York later in the term

  • International Relations will be in contact with students to guide them further with preparation
  • Students must attend all study tour classes as scheduled

Pre-Departure Preparation

Prior to Departure

Please complete the following steps:

  1. Attend the mandatory pre-Departure Session.
  2. Apply for required travel documents:
    • It is your responsibility to research and apply for the correct travel document/visa to enter the destination countries. Do NOT delay in applying for your visa, as processing times may be lengthy.
  3. Make travel arrangements:
    • It is your responsibility to fully understand the requirements to enter the destination countries and to make appropriate travel arrangements. We strongly encourage students to also purchase trip cancellation insurance, in case you are unable to travel (due to visa delays, unexpected border closures, etc).
  4. Obtain comprehensive travel health insurance.
  5. Submit the online Schulich Travel Registry and Informed Consent Form.
  6. Register with Foreign Affairs in your home country. Canadians travelling abroad can register here.
