Toronto to Host the Most Prestigious Real Estate Competition in the World

On March 30, 2023, 12 international graduate student teams will arrive in Toronto to compete in the Semi-Finals and Finals of the Real Estate CASE Competition. The CASE is a site on the Toronto Port Lands, at the base of the rerouted Don River. The site is known as Villiers Island and will anchor an entirely new community to emerge in the Port Lands in the decades ahead. For both the Semi-Finals and Finals, teams will present to a panel of industry experts.
The CASE is organized and hosted by a consortium of MIT’s Center of Real Estate, the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate at Columbia Business School, the Brookfield Centre in Real Estate & Infrastructure of the Schulich School of Business at York University and the University of Cambridge. Since the inaugural competition in 2010, over 1000 participants from 40 graduate programs have competed in the CASE Competition. This is acknowledged as the most prestigious real estate case competition in the world and attracts university teams from across the globe. No prize money, only bragging rights.
Being part of this select group of top-tier universities is a testament to the Master of Real Estate and Infrastructure Program and the international reputation of the Brookfield Centre, Schulich School of Business. Along with the Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship Program, it is a recognition of the international status of the Brookfield Centre in both real estate and sustainable infrastructure.
