Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship Program – Graduation Event
The graduation of the 2022 cohort of the Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship Program (SIFP) was celebrated on December 15th, 2022. The Fellows are Emerging Market senior government and agency officials, representing 18 countries globally. Notably, the 2022 cohort included a Fellow representing the Indigenous Communities of Canada, Government of Nunavut, in recognition of the Indigenous Infrastructure Gap. The graduates are awarded the prestigious Masters Certificate in Sustainable Infrastructure Development and Finance from the Schulich School of Business, York University, for completing the intensive Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship Program.
The Fellowship program was launched in 2019 with support from the Government of Canada and funded by the Investor Leadership Network (ILN), a consortium of 13 of the largest global investors in infrastructure, in collaboration with the Schulich School of Business. The program is directed at assisting emerging economies to better understand how to use private investment funds to advance sustainable infrastructure projects in their respective countries. This is the only such program in the world and represents a partnership between industry, academia, and government, to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The 2022 cohort demonstrated their commitment to sustainable infrastructure, as they participated in a virtual-live delivery, over the course of six months, meeting twice weekly, for two-hour sessions. The sessions were delivered by top academics in the field, ILN members and industry representatives, creating a unique platform for dialogue between key stakeholders. Industry Days led by ILN member organizations, in addition to guest speaker sessions, complemented the teachings. The highly engaged cohort of senior Fellows appreciated the program teachings and opportunity to cross-laterally share their wealth of experience.
Thank you to our ILN partners and the Schulich team for your endless dedication to the program’s success.
Congratulations to our 3rd annual cohort! SIFP2022 is proudly building on the success of SIFP2019 and SIFP2020-2021. We look forward to witnessing the change our program graduates are impacting, as the Fellowship Alumni network grows to 67 Alumni from 22 countries globally, 40 percent of whom are women.
