Anureet Bedi, BBA ’26 Candidate, Secures Zurich Canada Summer Internship
Meet Anureet Bedi, a second-year BBA student at Schulich who secured a summer internship with Zurich Canada as a Liability Intern.
Wondering how she did it? Well, there are plenty of ways to land internships, like browsing through Handshake, LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor. Bedi found this great opportunity on LinkedIn.
But here’s the thing: standing out in the application process isn’t easy. Bedi knew this and engaged Schulich’s Centre for Career Design (CCD) to help her put her best foot forward. She tapped into the CCD’s Career Advising team for some resume and cover letter assistance. “I booked a resume and cover letter review with Chris [Symonds, Industry Advisor, Finance and Accounting], where he helped me improve and implement any changes. He helped me make them easy to understand and attractive to the eye. I believe these changes really gave me an advantage during the process,” said Bedi.
Once Bedi was invited to interview, she booked a mock interview session with Symonds, who peppered her with relevant questions and provided actionable feedback. “He went through very realistic interview questions, took notes on my responses and provided useful feedback. The questions asked were specific to the role I applied for, and some of them came up during the actual interview process,” Bedi recalled.
When asked to summarize her experience working with the CCD, Bedi noted that the CCD “really supported my job search with their constant motivation. CCD resources were easy to access, and the team were very open to providing assistance.”
Bedi will begin her role with Zurich Canada this May, and we look forward to hearing about her summer internship experience!
