Seven Schulich Alumni in York’s ‘Top 30 Under 30’ List
This past week, York University released the 2022 Top 30 Alumni Under 30 list. Launched in 2021, York’s 30 Under 30 program highlights the success and diversity of the University’s young alumni community, while inspiring the next generation of alumni leaders.
The 2022 cohort, comprised of community builders, social entrepreneurs, environmental advocates, and more, includes seven incredible Schulich alumni.
Inductee Mahad Shahzad (BBA ’20) was recognized for founding Chatting to Wellness, a non-profit organization, while at Schulich. Chatting to Wellness provides companionship and mental health support to seniors across Canada. As of 2022, it has provided over 15,000 chats to seniors via over 100 active volunteers.
“I’m humbled to accept this award for the work that I, and those around me, do for our communities,” said Shahzad. “I’ve also been happy to have stayed involved through Schulich Startups and Schulich Entrepreneurship Club, returning to speak on panels, with students, and at events.”
Inductee Vito Giovannetti (BBA ’14) was recognized for co-founding Treasured, a 3D web platform and design agency with an online virtual museum that has received global recognition for its impact, featured in The New York Times, The Globe and Mail and CBS News.
“Congrats to all the York University Alumni being recognized this year for their ambition and passion to change the world!” said Giovannetti.
