Schulich’s MBA Program in Arts Media & Entertainment Management Announces Adjunct Professor Appointments
Lisa de Wilde appointed Adjunct Professor:
Co-directors, Trina McQueen and Joyce Zemans are pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa de Wilde, C.M. as Adjunct Professor in Schulich’s MBA Program in Arts, Media & Entertainment Management. ‘Lisa brings an extraordinary wealth of experience to the program’ said Zemans. ‘Her Order of Canada citation calls her media achievements ‘transformative’.’
Most recently, Lisa served as CEO of TVO, where she carried out a strategic reset of the broadcaster to a leading digital media company with a sharp focus on educational technology. Former President and CEO of Astral Networks, she is a lawyer who began her career at the CRTC. As an advocate for Canadian creative industries, she served on the board of the Toronto International Film Festival for 19 years, including five as Chair of the Finance and Audit committee, and her last 3 years as Chair of the Board. She currently serves on the boards of Telus, Toronto Global, and the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. Lisa’s experience as the longest serving CEO of TVO has cemented her reputation as a visionary leader. With her deep knowledge and understanding of the entertainment sector and the world of digital media, Lisa will make an important contribution to all aspects of the AM&E program.
Doug Barrett and Peter Grant re-appointed as Adjunct Professors:
AM&E will continue to be enriched by the contributions of Peter Grant and Doug Barrett, each of whom has made significant contributions to the AM&E program and who has recently been re-appointed as an adjunct professor.
Peter is a recognized expert in communications and copyright law and cultural and trade policy. Most recently, he served as a member of the federal Broadcasting and Telecommunications Legislative Review Panel, which this year recommended sweeping changes to Canadian media law. He is the author of several key texts in the field and founded the successful DM@X media conference.
Former Bell Media Professor in Media Management, Doug is a noted media and entertainment lawyer, with expertise in both the private and the public sector. He has served as Chair of the Board of the Canadian Television Fund and has been a board member of the Cable Production Fund, the Canadian Media Producers Association, and the Feature Film Project of Canadian Film Centre.
