Schulich Surpasses Fundraising Goal at Terry Fox Run
Members of the Schulich community laced up their sneakers for the 37th annual Terry Fox Run in support of Cancer Research on Sunday, September 17th. This year, Schulich assembled a team with over 40 members that helped raise over $3,600 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
The team was led by Co-Captains Sean Siddik (MBA 2003) and Catherine Sim (GBC Athletics Director). Participants ran the five and ten kilometre course around York University starting and ending at the York University Stadium. Runners started the race with a lap around the state-of-the-art track.
“We are so proud to once again exceed Team Schulich’s fundraising goal and we are grateful for the support received from members of the Schulich community – including our students, alumni, faculty, staff, as well as family and friends,” said Siddik.
This year the top fundraiser was iBBA candidate Ika Janiszewski collecting $542. Others finishing in the top five were: Allie Simpson (GBC President), Sean Siddik, Sheila Sinclair and Alina Pekarsky.
A team representing Schulich has been participating in the race since 2000 and has improved year after year. Siddik hopes that this year’s momentum will carry forward for years to come. “Once again, I am impressed by the energy and enthusiasm displayed by the Schulich team’s efforts for the Terry Fox Run, with our runners and donors working together for a worthy cause in support of Cancer Research.”
