Schulich Startups Firm GrowerIQ Secures $1M in Funding
Andrew Wilson (IMBA ’10) the Founder & CEO of GrowerIQ a pioneering cannabis technology firm, has secured CAD $1,080,000 in funding from the Government of Canada. This injection of capital, made possible through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), marks a transformative milestone in GrowerIQ’s quest to assert its dominance as a global leader in the cannabis industry.
GrowerIQ joined the Schulich Startups Advisory Program in 2021 and has been supported by Schulich Entrepreneur in Residence, Cherry Rose Tan and Adjunct Professor Chris Carder.
“We’re thrilled to have been part of GrowerIQ’s growth story,” says Tan. “Andrew and the team continue to impress with each new victory and he’s become an invaluable leader within the Schulich Startups community as well, as we work to inspire the next generation of Schulich Founders.”
This latest funding round serves as a testament to GrowerIQ’s vision and the confidence investors have in its technology, following a previously oversubscribed Seed round. Notably, GrowerIQ recently secured an exclusive contract with the Government of Barbados to utilize its platform to oversee all cannabis production on the island.
“We are thrilled to have secured this funding to accelerate our mission of transforming the cannabis industry,” Andrew, the Founder of GrowerIQ, expressed with enthusiasm. “This investment will empower us to further refine our technology and expand our global footprint.”
