Schulich MBA Students Place Third at HEC CSR Competition
A team of MBA students from Schulich recently placed in the Top 3 of the 2021 HEC CSR Challenge. This year, HEC virtually welcomed 31 teams from Canada, USA, UK, France and Spain.
Participants engaged in three consecutive rounds of competition. The first round was advanced prep, and the last two were 3-hour cases. The final round was a live case, which started with a briefing from the company’s executive team. All 31 teams participated in the first two rounds. Schulich was one of eight remaining teams to advance to the final round.
“It was an intense and exciting two days, and both Schulich teams worked tirelessly to prepare over the course of the entire week preceding the competition,” said Joe Fayt, Schulich MBA Marketing Instructor who also coaches students to engage in global case competitions.
“One thing I am most proud of, with all of our teams, is their spirit. This particular competition was truly a team effort. All team members supported each other and pulled together over the course of the weekend,” said Coach Fayt. “There were some particularly unexpected and challenging circumstances, putting them at a distinct disadvantage. But they embraced the challenge with their typical Schulich spirit of strength and determination, and did an outstanding job.”
Congratulations to all Schulich team members: Deanna Galati, Rageeb Kibria, Denis Keimakh, Silas Lee, Manuel Romano, Niketa Saini, Raf Sattar and Aleks Vagners.
