Schulich Insights Celebrates Career Diversity
At the 11th annual Schulich Graduate Business Council Insights Conference on Nov. 3rd, over 140 graduate students connected with a wide variety of Schulich alumni. Schulich Insights provides students with a deeper understanding of various industries by featuring panels with high-level Schulich alumni currently working in the field.
“Many of the students attending were in their first year and do not have a clearly defined career path,” said Azhar Meghani, Conference Lead, Schulich Insights. “It helps students to understand whether they really want to go into that industry. The panels also act as a platform to help students know about the recruitment practices in the industry and how to go forward with their job search.”
This year’s event showcased keynote speaker Raj Mehta (IMBA ’95), Global Head, Private Capital and Partnerships, Starlight Investments. Prior to joining Starlight he spent 12 years with Goldman Sachs in London, England. He shared how he was able to pivot his career and how the Schulich IMBA opened up new possibilities.
“With a Schulich IMBA you graduate from a prestigious school recognized around the world. Each program gives you new opportunities and it is what you makes of them that make the difference.” Mehta said during his keynote address.
In total 37 high-profile alumni returned to Schulich from the Business Analytics, Health, Global Mining, Supply Chain, Arts, Media and Entertainment, Real Estate and Infrastructure, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Social Sector, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Consulting industries.
