Schulich finishes #1 in Academics at the 2024 MBA Games

The 2024 MBA Games were held in early January in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Hosted by Brock University, there were 16 teams comprised from top graduate business students from across the country. The MBA Games has three categories, each worth one third of the total scoring: Academics, Athletics and Spirit. There are competitions within each category, and first, second and third place teams in each individual category. For Academics, Schulich placed first.
The Academic cases were sponsored by Simplii Financial and Accenture. The management team from Simplii challenged students to develop a strategic plan to support their highly ambitious growth plan for one of their credit card products. The Accenture team asked students to create a proposal to integrate Gen AI into the operations of one of their grocery clients. Both Schulich Academic teams worked very hard, right through exams and the holidays, and created professional and engaging presentations.
“I am very proud of the whole team, they worked hard, and represented Schulich with the right spirit,” said Joe Fayt, Adjunct Professor of Marketing and Schulich Case Competitions Coach. “I had the opportunity to speak with executives from both academic judging panels. They all told me that they were so impressed with our Schulich teams, commenting on their depth of research and the quality of their presentations. I felt so proud watching them perform, and then hearing this glowing feedback.”
