Schulich CCD-Inspired TEDx Talk Reaches Huge Global Audience
Over the decades, TEDx Talks have held an esteemed position in the global arena, presenting pioneering concepts from legendary names such as Bill Gates and Brené Brown.
Recently, Andrew O’Brien, Founder & CEO of Obie & Ax Inc, gave an enlightening TEDx Talk that has not only resonated with its direct audience but has also garnered acclaim worldwide. Having grown and sold four companies and collaborated with numerous Fortune 500 firms, Andrew’s lessons are shaped by vast experiences. Reflecting on his own hardships, he shows how he faced adversity head-on and discovered the dormant inner resilience we all possess.
The inception of this talk began with Diana Caradonna, Schulich’s Corporate Relations Specialist at the Centre for Career Design (CCD). Identifying the potential of Andrew’s journey and insights, Diana envisioned a platform where these experiences could benefit our student community. She soon partnered with Marko Samardzija from the Undergraduate Business Society, Co-President of TEDx YorkU, and BBA Candidate 2024, and Nikita Majumder, Co-President of TEDx YorkU and BBA Candidate 2024, to bring this vision to life.
“This achievement is nothing short of extraordinary,” stated Samardzija. “This momentous occasion is not just a personal triumph for us, it also marks a significant milestone for Schulich and York University.”
Our Schulich community couldn’t be more thrilled as the talk has been featured on the TEDx YouTube page, reaching a global audience of 38.8 million subscribers! Andrew’s TEDx Talk epitomizes the Schulich School of Business’s ethos – fostering leadership, resilience, and global impact.
Join us in congratulating Andrew, Diana, Nikita, and Marko on this remarkable accomplishment!
