RBC-Schulich Forum Explores How SMEs Manage Global Supply Chains

The Schulich Centre for Global Enterprise (CGE) recently hosted the eighth annual RBC-Schulich Enterprise Forum – titled “Managing International Supply Chains: Successfully Navigating the Turbulence”.
The Forum featured a panel of experts who shared insights on navigating disrupted international supply chains. The goal of the Forum was to empower Canadian businesses with the tools required to thrive in the ever-changing global landscape. Lynette Gillen, Vice-President of Commercial Solutions and Trade at RBC Royal Bank, moderated the discussion.
Panelists included Amesika Baëta, Regional Director of the GTA West Region at Export Development Canada; Peter Hawkins, Co-owner of MELLOHAWK Logistics; and Tiziano Pietrobon, Managing Director of Multi Kitchen and Bath, Inc.
“Cost efficiency has long been a primary, often exclusive, objective of global value chains,” said Douglas Kennedy, RBC Managing Director at the Centre for Global Enterprise. “But recent events have shown what can happen when finely tuned business processes such as just-in-time inventory management or lean manufacturing are disrupted”.
