MSCM Launches Thought Leadership Speaker Series with Alma Arzate
On September 11th, 2019, the MSCM Thought Leadership Committee on behalf of Schulich’s Master of Supply Chain Management program, launched the Fall term with the inaugural speaking event: “Supply Chain Leadership in the Workplace” featuring Keynote Speaker, Alma Arzate, Global Director of Supply Planning at Apotex Inc.
With more than 20 years of experience in global supply chain and operations, Alma has been recognized as one of SCMA’s 100 Influential Women in Canadian Supply Chain. During her presentation, Alma shared insights on her career, her journey transitioning from Mexico to Canada, and led an interactive discussion on how students may advance their careers in supply chain management.
As Alma shared during the session, “90% of success is a combination of failures, picking yourself back up, learning those lessons, and continuing to persevere and work hard.”
The MSCM Thought Leadership Committee is led by current students of the MSCM program under guidance from MSCM Program Director, David Johnston, with the objective of featuring industry voices on topics surrounding supply chain leadership.
The Committee will be welcoming additional industry leaders to Schulich for speaking engagements during the Fall and Winter terms. Announcements will be made on the Graduate Blog and Schulich Specialized Masters Programs Facebook page.
