Master of Management Candidate Wins Danone Leadership Award
Sammie Dhillon (MMGT ’22 Candidate) is the recipient of the second edition of the Danone L.I.F.T. (Lead and Inspire Female Talent) Leadership Award, receiving a cash prize of $3,000 and a mentorship opportunity with Caroline Duguay, Head of Communications from Danone Canada’s leadership.
L.I.F.T. is an employee resource group sponsored by Danone, which is committed to highlighting and supporting women’s leadership in Canada and throughout North America. Established on International Women’s Day 2020, the award is given to an incoming female MBA or Masters student who demonstrates the company’s leadership behaviours: agility, human-centricity, accountability and decisiveness, inclusivity and collaboration, and courage with empathy.
“The Danone L.I.F.T. Leadership Award closely aligns with my passion for empowering women,” said Dhillon. “I hope to pay it forward by paving the way for my younger sisters.”
As a certified B Corporation, Danone Canada is dedicated to diversity and inclusion, which is reflected by the strong presence of women among its management, as well as by ensuring equal average compensation for women and men.
Dhillon looks forward to gaining valuable advice and insights from the leadership team at Danone Canada and use that learning and experience for greater good: “I hope to leverage the connections I make and assist the team in any way I can to propel more initiatives that advance the empowerment of women.”
“Danone Canada believes in using business as a force for good and I am proud to work for a company that takes concrete actions to help building a society in which everyone has an equal chance of success. I look forward to mentoring Sammie Dhillon, an outstanding young woman, who will certainly carry her passion throughout her career and help her future employers to have a positive impact on our communities,” said Caroline Duguay, Head of Communications at Danone Canada.
