Celebrating 17 Years of Creating Global Leaders
The Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA (EMBA) recently held its 5th annual alumni gala. Since its inception, the program has remained one of the top global Executive MBA programs in the world and has been consistently ranked number one in Canada by the Financial Times of London (UK) and The Economist.
The celebration started with a cocktail reception and welcome remarks from Zara Lam (EMBA ’13), Chair of the EMBA Gala; Sandie Huynh (JD ’06, EMBA ’14), President of the Kellogg-Schulich Alumni Association; Schulich Dean Dezsö J. Horváth; and Greg Hanifee, Associate Dean of the Executive MBA Global Network at the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.
Dean Horváth thanked the program’s alumni for their strong support. “I am proud of your success and proud of the importance you place on staying connected with each other and with our School,” he said.
After the dinner service, Aaron Zifkin (BA ’13), Managing Director of Lyft Canada, took the stage as the special anniversary keynote speaker. He shared his career path and valuable advice to the attendees.
“Have you started a business? Have you failed at something? Have you been a mentor or mentee? What separates a good job candidate from a great one is being interesting,” said Zifkin. “Great resumes and job titles get you in the door, but being interesting gets you noticed.”
The evening concluded with an entertaining live auction, hosted by Professor Matthias Kipping.
This special event was a great opportunity for the members of the alumni association to reconnect with classmates, professors and staff and for the Class of 2018 to connect with distinguished alumni from the past 17 years.
