- Tell us about yourself.
I began my journey by earning a bachelor’s degree in management studies, specializing in finance. Early in my career, I found my niche in the finance world with a role in sell-side equity research at CRISIL Global Research & Analytics, an S&P Global company. After gaining four years of valuable experience in the field, I made the decision to further enhance my knowledge and skills by pursuing an MBA at Schulich.
After the first year of my MBA, I completed a summer internship at CIBC Capital Markets in the Simplii Financial secured lending product team, to expanding my exposure in the Canadian finance and banking sector. This experience not only solidified my passion for finance but also enriched my practical understanding of the field. Outside of my academic and professional commitments, I’m dedicated to giving back to my community through various initiatives. Additionally, I have a strong affinity for travel and adventure, which I consider essential for broadening my horizons and gaining diverse perspectives.
Looking forward, I’m enthusiastic about my upcoming second year of the MBA program. I’ve taken on responsibilities as the Vice President and Academic Affairs Director of the Schulich Graduate Business Council, where I’m excited to contribute further to the Schulich community. As I continue to learn and grow, I’m committed to cultivating a successful and impactful career in the world of finance, utilizing the knowledge and skills I’ve gained along my journey at Schulich.
- Why did you decide to pursue an MBA program at this point of your career?
The decision to pursue an MBA program at this point in my career stems from my belief in the value of a well-rounded education. While my professional trajectory has been rewarding, I recognize that combining practical experience with academic insight can unlock new levels of growth. The challenges and complexities of modern business demand more than just practical skills; they require the ability to think critically, strategize effectively, and make informed decisions. I see the MBA program as an opportunity to refine these skills and transform into a more comprehensive and impactful leader.

Having already had the privilege of representing Schulich in the Women in Leadership case competition and winning the Dean’s Cup for 2023, I’ve had a taste of the transformative experience the school offers. Transformational Leadership Development: My time at Schulich has not only expanded my intellectual horizons but also instilled in me a deeper understanding of what it means to be a leader. The program’s multifaceted approach to education has transformed my perspectives, refined my leadership capabilities and equipped me with the tools needed to excel in an evolving work environment.
- What have you enjoyed the most about Schulich’s MBA/Master program?
What I’ve cherished the most about Schulich’s MBA program is its holistic development approach. It’s not just about absorbing knowledge; it’s about growing as a multifaceted individual in a dynamic and immersive environment who can thrive in various professional and personal contexts. The most memorable moment for me was winning the Schulich Dean’s Cup last academic year.
The Dean’s Cup case competition comprised of four challenging rounds, testing our analytical skills, teamwork, and presentation skills. Winning the final round, sponsored by RBC, was a crowning achievement. Holding the Dean’s Cup trophy alongside my team was a deeply gratifying moment, validating our hard work, dedication, and collaborative effort to tackle complex business cases. These memories and the invaluable lessons learned will continue to inspire me as I progress in my career and life beyond Schulich.
- What is your plan after graduation and how has Schulich helped with that?
After completing the MBA program, my aim is to work in finance at a leading Canadian Bank. Schulich’s curriculum, coupled with experiential learning opportunities, has uniquely positioned me to excel in this field. The exposure to real-world scenarios, including the summer internship, bridges the gap between theory and practice, enabling me to seamlessly navigate complex business challenges.
