    Interview Questions

    1. Tell us about yourself.

I began my journey by earning a bachelor’s degree in management studies, specializing in finance. Early in my career, I found my niche in the finance world with a role in sell-side equity research at CRISIL Global Research & Analytics, an S&P Global company. After gaining four years of valuable experience in the field, I made the decision to further enhance my knowledge and skills by pursuing an MBA at Schulich.

After the first year of my MBA, I completed a summer internship at CIBC Capital Markets in the Simplii Financial secured lending product team, to expanding my exposure in the Canadian finance and banking sector. This experience not only solidified my passion for finance but also enriched my practical understanding of the field. Outside of my academic and professional commitments, I’m dedicated to giving back to my community through various initiatives. Additionally, I have a strong affinity for travel and adventure, which I consider essential for broadening my horizons and gaining diverse perspectives.

Looking forward, I’m enthusiastic about my upcoming second year of the MBA program. I’ve taken on responsibilities as the Vice President and Academic Affairs Director of the Schulich Graduate Business Council, where I’m excited to contribute further to the Schulich community. As I continue to learn and grow, I’m committed to cultivating a successful and impactful career in the world of finance, utilizing the knowledge and skills I’ve gained along my journey at Schulich.

    1. Why did you decide to pursue an MBA program at this point of your career?

The decision to pursue an MBA program at this point in my career stems from my belief in the value of a well-rounded education. While my professional trajectory has been rewarding, I recognize that combining practical experience with academic insight can unlock new levels of growth. The challenges and complexities of modern business demand more than just practical skills; they require the ability to think critically, strategize effectively, and make informed decisions. I see the MBA program as an opportunity to refine these skills and transform into a more comprehensive and impactful leader.

    1. Why Schulich?

Schulich’s MBA program resonates with me on multiple levels. Firstly, its commitment to experiential learning aligns perfectly with my learning style and career aspirations. The emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving directly addresses the challenges professionals face in today’s rapidly changing business landscape. Moreover, Schulich’s Strategic Field Study and Global Immersive Option, promises a unique consulting opportunity with an international perspective that can broaden my horizons and enhance my understanding of global business dynamics through real-world experience.

Having already had the privilege of representing Schulich in the Women in Leadership case competition and winning the Dean’s Cup for 2023, I’ve had a taste of the transformative experience the school offers. The exposure to real-world challenges and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to practical situations have solidified my belief in the program’s effectiveness. Schulich’s focus on leadership development and the opportunity to take on leadership roles within the Graduate Business Council, working alongside the school management to enhance student experience, affirms its dedication to nurturing holistic growth.

    1. What have you enjoyed the most about Schulich’s MBA/Master program?

What I’ve cherished the most about Schulich’s MBA program is its holistic development approach. It’s not just about absorbing knowledge; it’s about growing as a multifaceted individual in a dynamic and immersive environment who can thrive in various professional and personal contexts. The most memorable moment for me was winning the Schulich Dean’s Cup last academic year.

The Dean’s Cup case competition comprised of four challenging rounds, testing our analytical skills, teamwork, and presentation skills. Winning the final round, sponsored by RBC, was a crowning achievement. Holding the Dean’s Cup trophy alongside my team was a deeply gratifying moment, validating our hard work, dedication, and collaborative effort to tackle complex business cases.
