A Landmark Success for Schulich Giving Day

On November 18th, Schulich held its second annual Giving Day, a 24-hour impact-driven and student-centered community initiative supporting our talented students. In these challenging times, the global Schulich community joined forces to ensure that current students have the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
Schulich Giving Day established a record one-day fundraising milestone for our School. Thanks to 184 Schulich donors across the globe who participated, we raised $53,691 surpassing our $50,000 goal. In addition, thanks to Schulich alumnus Michael Bigger (MBA ’92) and a private donor, these funds will be matched with another $50,000, bringing the total amount of funds raised to $103,691, which will go toward the Student Support Fund and the School’s Highest Priorities Fund.
“I am honoured to have been a part of Schulich Giving Day 2021 and to give back to the School that has done so much for me,” said Michael Bigger. “I am also grateful to see the growing number of alumni who have come together this year with passion and generosity.”
Every dollar from the Schulich Giving Day campaign will provide our students with financial support and the School with the vital resources needed to advance its ongoing efforts in delivering an outstanding educational experience for our students.
“As an undergrad at Schulich, seeing alumni from across programs and years coming together for our current students is truly inspiring,” shared Ananya Kakkar, iBBA ’22 Candidate and President of the Undergraduate Business Society. “Your support is giving us opportunities to learn through unique experiences and to engage in top-notch programming that will prepare us as leaders. Seeing how your generosity also supports colleagues facing financial needs is so incredible. Thank you for everything!”
If you missed Giving Day, don’t worry! It’s not too late to make a contribution. Your donation today to the Schulich Student Support Fund or the School’s Highest Priorities Fund is an investment in the future of our graduates.
“On behalf of the Schulich School of Business, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our alumni and donors who joined forces to make Schulich Giving Day 2021 a success,” said Schulich Dean Detlev Zwick. “Because of you, we exceeded our fundraising goal, enabling us to support students in need and enhance their Schulich experience.”
