RECRUITING ALUMNI JUDGES FOR THE GBC CULTURAL CRAWL – ONLINE EXCLUSIVE!
Hosted by the Graduate Business Council (GBC)
In partnership with the Alumni Relations Office

What is Cultural Crawl?
In the past, the culture crawl was held in person on York’s residences. Students would host pavilions to portray their cultural background by offering food, drinks, dance and other performances. Students who wanted to be part of the experience were grouped in teams and “crawl” around the pavilions to visit and appreciate all the cultural representations.

New Online Edition of Cultural Crawl – Alumni Judges Needed!
The objective of the GBC online Cultural Crawl is to showcase the multi-cultural wealth that exists within the Schulich student body and to engage Schulich students in extracurricular activities that promote and embrace diversity and inclusion in a fun and safe environment (please see attached for more information.)

Students from all graduate levels will showcase their cultural representations online, in the categories of
1. Visual Arts (each submission 10 images or less)
2. Videos (each submission 5 min or less)
3. Audio (each submission 5 min or less)
4. Literary works (each submission 750 words or less)

Timing
Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 5:30 pm EDT
Zoom (1 hour)

Format
A panel of four judges will be selected for each category.  A facilitator will be in the breakout room to assist the judges.  The judges will review the top four submissions for each category, for a total of 20 min and select a winner in each category.

Winners in each of the four categories will be announced at 6:00 pm. From 5:30 to 6:00 pm, there will be a panel discussion on the intersection of business and culture, and the strategic advantage a diverse team can bring about. During this panel discussion, Alumni judges will be deliberating on the winners for each of the 4 categories to be presented after the panel has ended.

Spaces for this activity are limited, those selected to participate will be contacted by Gabriela Moreno Kahn, Director of International Relations on the Graduate Business Council.  If you are not chosen to participate in this activity, your information will be kept on file for future opportunities.
