Umehani Kanga
Umehani joined the Schulich MREI program after gaining significant work experience in both the U.S. and India. She started her professional career as a Risk Analyst at Trimont Real Estate Advisors in Atlanta, servicing real estate portfolios of large institutional clients. She later moved to become a Real Estate Private Equity Investment Analyst with Milestone Capital (AUM US$ 1 billion) and saw multiple investments through the entire deal cycle. She has also worked with startups in the renewable energy and technology sectors helping them with fundraising and developing their business strategies.
Umehani chose the Schulich MREI program to obtain a deeper and broader knowledge of real estate and infrastructure acquisitions and investments and how the two industries interrelate. Excellent faculty, relevant coursework that merges theory with practice, engaged alumni and Schulich’s reputation in the Industry were all driving forces in this decision.
Outside of the classroom, Umehani is active in the Schulich Community as Co-President of the Schulich Real Estate and Infrastructure Club (SREIC) student organization.
Umehani holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian School of Business.
