SRPAA Leadership Fund for Black and Indigenous Communities
Immediate Impact: In partnership with the Schulich Real Property Alumni Association (SRPAA) and the Brookfield Centre in Real Estate and Infrastructure at the Schulich School of Business, a founding group of alumni and friends came together in October 2021 to raise $250,000 in record speed to support eight incoming students over the next four years with renewable awards. The leading initiative is supporting Black and Indigenous Youth to obtain a business degree and to graduate with a career path. We celebrate this milestone but are committed to do more—to create more awards, support more students, and do so permanently.
One year later, and in response to an overwhelming participation from our community, we are launching a new campaign goal of $1.75M, to be raised/pledged by April 2023, to ensure we can permanently establish the SRPAA and Partners Leadership Awards for Black and Indigenous Communities once the renewable awards have been depleted. The awards will continue to provide support for tuition and be augmented by a mentorship and internship program to advance the professional development of students.
