Schulich Grad Recognized by Supply Chain Canada
A Schulich alumnus has been honoured as one of Supply Chain Canada’s Canadian Immigrants Impacting Supply Chain. Gautam Sinha, MBA 2019, is recognized on the list of the top 40 immigrants in Canada in the supply chain domain for enhancing the supply chain profession.
“This recognition assures me that I am on the right path and that I am taking the right set of actions towards my professional development,” said Sinha.
After 10 years of working internationally in Operations and Strategy Consulting, Sinha came to Canada after being accepted into Schulich’s MBA in India program. He did an extensive research on business schools from different countries and found that Schulich best aligned with his academic and post-academic goals.
“I utilized my MBA opportunity to develop my quantitative and analytical prowess. I enjoyed Advanced Spreadsheet Modelling and Programming for Business (OMIS 6350), where I developed a production planning tool using VBA Programming,” said Sinha. “I also loved an Individual Study that I did with Professor Linda Lakats on Models and applications in Operational Research, where I learned valuable concepts that can drive optimization in various parts of the business.”
Sinha shares the following advice for current students at Schulich interested in Supply Chain: “Pay attention to all industries as almost all industries hire supply chain professionals. Explore all disciplines of Supply Chain: Plan – Source – Make – Deliver – Return – Enable. Network with supply chain professionals in all these areas in various industries and evaluate your interests to optimize your career.”
