Canada and International Graduate Students
As a global leader in graduate education, Canada is committed to welcoming exceptional international graduate students from around the world. To support your studies, the Canadian government no longer imposes study permit caps on international students at the graduate degree level, including master’s and doctoral programs. Schulich’s graduate programs remain fully eligible for international applicants.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
Schulich master’s programs are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) of up to three years. This allows graduates to gain valuable Canadian work experience and, if desired, use that experience to support longer-term immigration pathways.

Bring Your Family With You
Canada welcomes spouses, partners, and children of international students. Eligible spouses or partners may apply for an open work permit, and school-aged children can attend public school in Ontario at no cost.

International students may work on-campus and off-campus during their studies, subject to IRCC regulations. You can gain professional experience while managing academic commitments.

Schulich is uniquely positioned with three Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) on staff who provide expert, regulated immigration guidance. Students receive individualized support on study permits, work authorization, post-graduation pathways, and compliance with current IRCC regulations throughout their program.

Before arriving in Canada, international students receive personalized pre-arrival guidance and immigration readiness support. This includes practical information on housing, banking, healthcare, and early connection to the Schulich community, ensuring a smooth and confident transition.

1. Admissions Designed for Global Academic Pathways

Schulich uses a holistic admissions process that evaluates academic preparation, professional experience, leadership potential, and quantitative readiness in context. Most Schulich programs do not have a GMAT or GRE requirement.
For the MBA program, GMAT and GRE waivers may be available for qualified applicants following an individual assessment.
Applicants with a strong GPA in a quantitative or analytically rigorous discipline, combined with relevant professional experience, may be considered for a test waiver. Candidates who hold advanced professional credentials or certifications, such as the CFA designation or other recognized professional qualifications, may also be eligible for exemption, subject to review. In some cases, alternative standardized test scores may be considered in place of the GMAT or GRE.
Prospective MBA applicants interested in a GMAT or GRE waiver are encouraged complete Step 1-5 of the application to be pre-reviewed by a member of the Schulich admissions team.
